Snowmobile Trip

During the week, Rod and Mark Walburger drove all the way to Boise Idaho to pick up a used snowmobile for Rod.  Rod was able to import his machine yesterday at the border and so today he wanted to go for a ride up to the Community Pasture.  Usually there us not enough snow at the end of April to go snowmobiling  in the Community Pasture but this year there is still quite a bit left.  He asked me if I wanted to go along.  The first thing we saw were two bears but when they heard and saw us they headed up the hill.  By the time I got my camera out they weren't very close, but I did snap a few pictures just to prove that we did see them.
When we were coming back down the valley I looked up on the top of the hill where I thought I saw the two bears again.  We rode up near the top and found it to be two moose.  Again, when they saw and heard us,  they took off like a shot.

Kite Flying

Leah received a kite for her birthday.  Finally the weather co-operated enough, so that she could fly it.  It was just a perfect evening last night.  We were outside flying the kite and the kids were chasing bubbles as they floated in the air trying to pop them.  It is nice to finally have some decent weather.

Week-end Updates

Friday afternoon, Robbie, Crystal and I went up to Waterton for the afternoon.  This is the reason why we couldn't get to the camp kitchen on  Family Day in February.  There is still quite a bit of snow still up in the mountains.
On Saturday, we all gathered together for dinner and the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  The kids had a great time hunting for eggs and just spending time with their cousins.  We even had an a strange visitor show up to help us celebrate the occasion.  When Robbie and Aidan were checking around the trees to see if all the eggs had been found, they looked up and discovered a Northern Saw-whet Owl.  It wasn't very big and it just stayed in the tree while everyone came out to see it and  take pictures.  Rod called it our Easter Owl.

Easter Egg Hunt

Last week-end we received another foot of snow.  I am hoping that the sun comes out and shines all this week, so that we can enjoy our annual Easter Egg Hunt  that we are having on Saturday.  I have the treats all bought and I am going to load the eggs during the week ,so now the weather just needs to co-operate.  I always enjoy having the family home and doing things together.  We sure miss Derick, Megan and their kids and wish them a great Easter holiday.

Aidan Choir

Last Thursday, Audrey and I went to Aidan's final Elementary School Choir performance for the year.  Their choir is so awesome and they did a wonderful job.  This is Aidan's final year in the choir as she is moving on to grade seven next year,  but she has two sisters wanting to be in the choir next year.

Snow

I am beginning to think spring is never going to come.  Yesterday, we had more snow and wind and it was just plain nasty outside.  Lindsey and Mar came down from Calgary and Robert and Samantha came from Medicine Hat on Friday night to spend the week-end.  Lindsey, Mar and Robert were going to go cross-country skiing on Saturday,  but it was too nasty outside so everyone just stayed home. We  had tickets for the theatre production "The King and I"  that was being put on at the Carriage House Theatre.  We braved the snow and wind and went and really enjoyed the production.  Aidan was one of the princesses in the play and we didn't want to miss the performance.  Lindsey had to be back up to work today by 9:00 a.m. and so they left very early this morning  to make it back up to Calgary in time.  Today, was a much better day.  Buster has spent much of the day chasing gophers and I even went for a walk this evening.
